What jumps are required for the Pre-Juvenile USFS test?
TL;DR
Pre-Juvenile Free Skate introduces the Single Axel as a key required element, plus jump combinations using singles.
This is the level where the Axel arrives, and it is a real milestone — it is the only jump with a forward takeoff and 1.5 rotations, which is why skaters often spend a long time on it. Combinations (like Salchow + Toe Loop) also become a test requirement here, so your child needs to land one jump cleanly enough to immediately launch another.
Double jumps are not a standalone test requirement at Pre-Juvenile — doubles become test elements starting at Juvenile. Many Pre-Juvenile skaters are working on doubles in practice, but that is training, not testing.
Always verify current requirements with your coach or usfigureskating.org.
